It all began in 1954, when Walter Hauenstein laid the foundations for the success story of Hauenstein Immobilien AG with his one-man company. By acquiring various properties over the years, he was able to expand the company and make a name for himself in the Lake Thun region. In the 1980s, his son Peter, who had studied law, joined the company and played a key role in ensuring that its excellent reputation continued to spread. Since 2020, the third generation, twin sisters Andrea and Nathalie, have been in charge and are initiating contemporary transformation processes.

Over the years, Hauenstein Immobilien AG's credo has always been to build not only for the top 20 percent of the population, but also for the middle class. But it's not just real estate and the hotel industry that are being addressed; health is also an important concern. The Schönberg Clinic in Gunten, which specializes primarily in orthopaedic rehabilitation, makes a significant contribution to securing the future of care in the Swiss healthcare system.The management of housing, real estate and the clinic provides jobs for around 650 people. And with over 50 trainees, it ensures that there will be skilled workers available in the future. It is therefore clear to see the appeal of this family business – it is impossible to imagine the Lake Thun region without the Hauenstein name.
